JOB SUMMARY
This HR Business Partner role coaches and consults with teams to achieve their organizational priorities, including but not limited to, talent management, organizational effectiveness employee engagement and relations and diversity & inclusion. This candidate must be able to effectively work across all levels of the organization, serve as a trusted resource to front-line staff, as well as a partner to leadership team. Your business acumen, interpersonal skills and ability to make data driven decisions and recommendations will be critical.
The Human Resource Business Partner is responsible for the overall HR Operations for his/her region that supports one or more lines of business within the organization. As a key member of the HR Team, the HRBP is responsible for partnering with other functional HR areas to support departments with administration of company policies, procedures, and practices to ensure consistent and equitable treatment of all employees. It is a hybrid position with travel to the various offices, stores, and/or warehouses within assigned client group.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Providing day to day performance leadership guidance to client groups (coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions)
- Communicating and facilitating training on HR policies, procedures and announcements
- Managing and resolving employee relations issues; through conducting effective, thorough, and objective investigations and recommending appropriate action
- Maintaining in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks, and ensuring regulatory compliance
- Working closely with leadership to evaluate and proactively ensure employee engagement to prevent turnover and promote organizational culture
- Assisting leader engagement activities to drive high performing teams
- Act as an employee advocate and change agent for organization
- Leading HR initiatives within your respective business unit (Retail Sales, E-commerce , Organization support functions, etc.)
- Assessing and anticipating the HR-related needs of the organization and/or business units
- Analyzing trends and metrics in partnership with HR and operational leadership to develop solutions, programs and policies
- Providing guidance and input on business unit restructures, workforce planning, and succession planning
- Building relationships and engaging workforce at all levels to support an inclusive and equitable culture
- Identifying training needs for business units and individual coaching needs
- Maintaining an effective level of business literacy about the business units operations, financials, mid-range plans, etc.
- Participating and/or facilitating new team member orientation
- Perform any other duties or projects as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant field or equivalent experience required.
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience in the HR field, with primary experience within employee relations, employee engagement and experience leading HR project teams
- Working knowledge of multiple human resources disciplines, including compensation, benefits, disability management and/or HRIS
- Knowledgeable in state and federal employment laws, including applicable wage and hour, leave entitlement and employment legal requirements.
- Experience within a large, complex organization is preferred
- Proficient in MS Applications, HRIS Systems
- S/PHR certification preferred.
- Willingness to work on-site and to commute to different locations in and around the San Francisco Bay Area
