The American Heart Association has an excellent opportunity for Program Development Manager in our National Center office located in Dallas, Texas .

We are currently hiring a Program Development Manager . The Program Development Manager is responsible for planning, scheduling and executing assigned program initiatives for one or more of American Heart Association's scientific conferences or meetings and various pre-conference symposia. This role will be the project lead in our speaker and abstract management software and associated processes across all our scientific conference education teams. Facilitating the abstract submission, review, and overall session building with abstract reviewers, presenters and moderators. This role is responsible for managing volunteer engagement, interaction and online abstract workflow in support of program committees and key volunteers as well as facilitating publication of abstracts in the appropriate American Heart Association Journal.

Responsibilities

  • Managing processes across scientific conferences with our abstract and speaker management system (Clarivate’s ScholarOne Abstracts) and ensuring alignment across all conferences.
  • Work with the conference professional education team to create efficient processes across all workflows.
  • Manage abstract and speaker management system processes with related vendors including those who handle case-based outcomes surveys, those who develop and host program websites those who manage registration, and those who are responsible for slide set production, training videos and website design
  • Establish trusted communication with volunteers and anticipate needs and expectations. Work with OSO, internal departments, and regions to meet department goals and establish American Heart Association as a leader in the field.
  • Work with the conference professional education team to establish and coordinate project timelines, deadline compliance and effective communication and dissemination of both
  • Work with the conference professional education team to manage revenue and budget for established portfolio while identifying potential cost savings and revenue goals

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Healthcare Administration, Clinical Science, Education, Training, related area or equivalent certification or experience
  • Strong speaker and abstracts database management experience.
  • Four (4) years of experience in Continuing Education programming or administration
  • Two (2) years of experience in coordinating and managing volunteers or equivalent
  • Basic knowledge of project management, educational programming, vendors, or successful training methodologies
  • Ability to coordinate and prioritize workflow, establish and meet critical deadlines
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with Clarivate’s ScholarOne Abstracts speaker and abstract management database.
  • Two (2) years of experience in managing accredited continuing professional education programs
  • Web content management experience
