PATH Inc. (People Against Trafficking Humans) is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization located in Western New York. The PATH Enrichment Center in Buffalo, is a safe place offering support services to adults and youth at risk or affected by human trafficking addressing the whole person. We are growing and expanding our programs and looking for applicants with a passion for working with youth who have experienced trauma and exploitation. The Social Worker for the Youth Program focuses on youth 12-18 years old and has the opportunity to expand and grow our youth program.
The social worker will provide individual counseling, case management and client-based advocacy services. In the role, the candidate will run support groups and engage with guardians and other providers. This position will work closely with the Program Supervisor to ensure clients are receiving services vital to the long-term success of those victimized. Outreach, trainings and community development with schools, the court systems, law enforcement and other youth settings will be a part of this role.

Role Responsibilities
- Provide individual counseling, addressing crisis, safety, stabilization, trauma, assault, coping strategies for youth ages 12-18.
- Client-based advocacy services and case management accessing other community resources, linkages, developing and working toward goals
- Includes daily phone call check-ins, advocacy assistance at other providers, collaborative care with law enforcement, court, schools, and families, providing resources to guardians
- Facilitate psychoeducation support groups to youth
- Raise awareness in the community about the issue of human trafficking through educational trainings and speaking engagements in schools
- Track and input client data used for various grant applications.
- Maintain regular case documentation.
- Provide transportation to and from PATH or other providers as needed for clients.
Qualifications
- MS/MA in the area of social work, mental health or human services related field or working toward their masters preferred.
- Experience in providing direct services with youth who have experienced assault and trauma, trafficking victims, or at risk teenagers preferred
- Strong project management skills, including the ability to work independently, assess priorities, take initiative, handle multiple assignments, and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work independently while maintaining accountability for all work assigned.
- Ability and willingness to be a positive, professional and engaged member of the agency’s team by behaving honestly, responsibly, and respectfully to all (colleagues, community members, agency clients).
- Ability to network and maintain strong relationships with governmental and community partner agencies.
- Strong documentation skills.
- Ability to work well with leadership and passionate about advocating for the work of the organization.
- Comfortable working in a faith-based organization.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
